Marlene R. London, age 87 of Grand Rapids, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday February 11, 2025 She is now reunited with her best friend and love of her life, Charles, just in time for Valentine's Day. Now they can celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary together in heaven. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Michael & Susan London, Patrick & Joyce London, Steven & Julie London; her grandchildren Eric & Emily, Matthew & Agatha, Nathan & Sarah, Mark & Sara Jean, Adam & Brynne, Audrey & Eric, Mary and her fiancé Nathan and Robert; her great grandchildren Paige, Ethan, Noel, Zoe, Shelby, Sadie, Violet and Ada, Macey, Jacob, Matt, Ellie. Marlene worked for Fisher Body Plant 2 on the sewing and assembly lines. She retired in 1992 after 27 plus years. She was a life time member of St. Jude Catholic Church and helped with various church activities. Mom loved being outdoors and working in her yard and cleaning. She loved to travel to new places and enjoyed many camping and casino trips. She was never afraid to be the "first" to try new things such as recipes, riding a zip-line through the Alaskan forest, flying on a trapeze, para-sailing and white water rafting. Mom was relentless and a survivor. She was proud of her family. No matter what her circumstances were, her family ALWAYS came first and she was happiest when we would stop by. She was always interested in our lives and when needed, gave each of us positive advice. She especially loved watching her grand- and great- grandchildren compete in various school activities. She loved her "sweets" and always had them on hand to share. Marlene was dearly loved and admired by her family and her presence will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 18, 2025 11:00 am at St. Jude Church where her family will receive visitors one hour prior to the mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday February 17, 2025 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers East Mortuary, 937 Michigan St NE where a Rosary will be prayed on Monday at 7:00 pm. Mem contributions to St. Jude’s Catholic Parish would be appreciated.
