Kimberly "Kim" Falendesz

Kimberly “Kim” Falendesz, 63, fell asleep peacefully into the warm embrace of Jesus and entered the glory of Heaven on May 3, 2024. She was at home and surrounded by the rich love of her family. Born on August 11, 1960, Kim was the eldest child of Ronald and Geri Pawloski, known as her mother’s ‘darling’. A devoted daughter, nurturing mother, cherished sister, aunt and friend to many. Her bright joy and gentle love will be greatly missed. Kim grew up in Grand Rapids, MI. She attended West Catholic (’78) and went on to pursue her passion of caring for others through the path of nursing. She graduated from Blodgett School of Nursing (’81) and began her career working at Metro Hospital ICU. She joined Hospice of Michigan, where she worked for over 20 years. In 2011, she stepped into a new role with Reliance Community Care Partners where she retired from this past October. She served the West Michigan community as a nurse for over 40 years. Kim loved art, gardening and was always on the hunt for a new trinket to bring home. An avid reader, often seen leaving the library with a bag of books. Her favorite day was one spent with family. Whether it was up at the family cottage, around the dinner table with a casserole, over at her ma’s for movie night. The joy of her life was “the kids”; her children, their friends, the grandkids, nieces, she was always excited to hear about the big and little things going on in their lives. She loved her sweet Toostie, her cavapoo that she shared with her daughter. Kim fought hard and was faithful until the end. Her heart was content and she was ready to meet her Maker. Her family will miss the intentional way she loved and held space for each of their hearts. Kim leaves behind her beloved parents, three beautiful children, Garrit (Kristin) Joustra, Alicia Joustra and Ari (Annie) Falendesz. Her grand babies who were the light of her life; Jaelynn, Connor, Brielle, Blake. Five siblings Glenn (Bonnie) Pawloski, Mike Pawloski, Gail Russell, Chris (Steve) Brace, Tim (Danielle) Pawloski, along with many nieces and nephews. Her family will receive visitors Thursday May 9, 2024, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd NW. A Funeral Service will be held Friday May 10, 2024 at 11:00 am at Calvary Church 707 East Beltline Ave NE Grand Rapids MI 49525 where her family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at church. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate care of CHC/St Mary’s and the many family members, friends, neighbors, and colleagues who have prayed and provided for them in the last season of Kim’s life.
