Mrs. Judith Lynn Missad

On September 14, 2013 Judith Missad (Borden) age 78, of Coopersville, went peacefully into the arms of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Judy was born March 18th of 1935 to Benjamin and Elinor Borden in Grand Rapids Michigan. She was a member of East Grand Rapids High School’s graduating class of 1953. After high school Judy completed her education at Mercy School of Nursing in Lansing Michigan. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years giving compassionate care to the young, the brain injured, and the elderly. She enjoyed spending her summers on the shores of Lake Michigan surrounded by family and friends. In her retirement years Judy was an active parishioner of St. Simon’s Parish in Ludington Michigan. She was a member of the Respect Life community and happily dedicated many hours the adoration chapel there. Judy had a fun-loving and generous spirit with an unwavering faith and love for the lord. She will be missed by many. Judy was preceded in death by, her husband Gene Missad, her sister and brother-in-law Robert and Janet Henning, and her daughter Kelly Forth (Coe). She is survived by two daughters, five step-children, and their spouses, Andrew and Katy Paul, Richard and Kerry DeGraaf, Scott and Tracy Missad, Matthew and Michelle Missad, Todd Missad, Elizabeth Missad, and John and Wendy Missad. Judy was blessed with 18 grandchildren, Casey Paul, Jamie Chenelle, Daniel Paul, Emily Forth, Stephanie Forth, Nolan DeGraaf, Brain Anderson, ElinorGene DeGraaf, Lillian DeGraaf, Audrey DeGraaf, Adam Missad, Alex Missad, Cassandra Missad, Mallory Missad, Jordan Missad, Joseph Missad. Samantha Missad, and Eric Missad. Also survived by Judy are her nieces, nephews, and their families. Robert and Karin Henning, Bob Henning, Sunny Ackerman, Heather Worm, Jim Henning, Amy Metzing, Toni Henning, Jamie Henning, Bill and Cathy Quinn, Rory Quinn, Debbie Henning, Beau Williams, Jacqueline Funk, Phil and Mickey Valinski, Chirs Valinski, Rebecca Kennedy, Matthew Valinski, Joshua Valinski, Samantha Valinski, , Tony and Sue Overholt, Brittany Henning, and Madison Overholt, A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Thursday 10:30 am at St. Ann’ s Home Chapel where she will repose one hour prior to the Mass. Her family will receive visitors Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance NW. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 8:00 pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St. Ann’s Home or Emmanuel Hospice of St. Ann’s Home will be appreciated.
