David Anthony Truszkowski

David Anthony Truszkowski, age 39 of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday May 16, 2021 after a courageous battle with COVID. He was preceded in death by his father, David. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Olivia; his mother, Linda; his sisters Beth (Michael) Godfrey, Mindy (David) Quade, Tamara (Robert) Franzak, and Deborah (Mathew) Truszkowski-Proulx; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. David graduated Kenowa Hills high school, Class of 2000, and received his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. He learned to skate soon after he learned to walk, and had a life long passion for ice hockey. David excelled and played for GRAHA, Griffins travel, Kenowa Hills Knights, many rec hockey teams and coached. He was an avid sports fan who loved Notre Dame, "Go Irish!” David was a loyal friend and made many wherever he went. From the locker room, to the lake, the neighborhood and work, he was always kind, funny, easy-going and had a heart of gold. His signature smirk and contagious laugh would brighten your day. David always enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Big Bass Lake where you’d often find him captaining the pontoon or igniting dad’s cannon. Most of all, David completely adored his precious daughter, Olivia, and he loved her with all his heart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday May 22, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, where he will repose one hour prior to Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. David’s family will receive visitors Friday May 21, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd. NW, where a Rosary will be prayed Friday at 7:00 PM.
