Beth Ann Colvin

Beth Ann Colvin (also known as Bubba) passed-away peacefully on January 11,2023. She lived a life full of activity and fun and was the “darling” wherever she went. You could depend on her smile and conversation because she loved to be around people. Beth attended schools in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, eventually graduating with a completion certificate. She was a participant in the Special Olympics for many years in swimming and gymnastics. Her reading skills were limited but she loved to scour the newspaper and cut-out coupons for family and friends. Beth was infallible in remembering birthdates of her family and enjoyed writing them on her calendar. When it came to going somewhere, Beth was first to the car, waiting patiently for the driver to arrive. There were many things she loved (shopping at Goodwill, car rides, dogs, eating steak, popcorn, Diet Coke from McDonalds) but none more than her hooded sweatshirts and watches. At one time, she probably had over 70 wrist watches and was always on the look-out for more. Beth held part-time jobs most of her adult life and truly had a love of work. Beth and her mother enjoyed many travels over the years. From local bus-trips to ocean cruises, they loved to visit new places and meet new people. Beth was a true adventurer, fearless to go someplace and try something new. She loved to sing and shake her “booty” on the dance floor, always with a big smile on her face. Beth was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dale and Joan Colvin. She is survived by her brother Mike (Agnes) Colvin and sister Amy (Walt) Gutowski; nieces and nephews: Matt (Melissa) Colvin, Amber Jones, Jessica (Jacob) Slaydon, Walter Gutowski III, Samantha (Jacob) Randall, Victoria (Max) Merget; great nieces and nephews: Adley, Graham, Blake, Molly, Dax, Henry, Parks, Dottie; aunt Estelle Harbour; and cousins in Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas. The family extends its love and appreciation to the hard-working staff at Green Acres Assisted Living (Standale campus) who took great care of Beth in her last years. We also thank Faith Hospice for the special care given these past two months. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 5 :00 to 8:00 pm, at Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary (3525 Remembrance Road NW, Walker). A Memorial service will follow on Friday, January 20, 2:00 pm, at St. Anthony’s Church (2510 Richmond Street NW, Grand Rapids) where her family will receive visitors one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Green Acres of Standale or Faith Hospice Patient Assistance Fund.
