    Mr. Wayne Anthony Szubinski

    May 18, 1943 - December 12, 2021

    Mr. Wayne Anthony Szubinski age 78 of Sparta, MI went to be with his Lord on Sunday December 12, 2021. Wayne was born on May 18, 1943, in Grand Rapids, MI. He is the son of Joseph and Helen Szubinski who preceded him in death. Wayne was a graduate of Sparta High School, whereas upon graduation he served in the U. S. Navy aboard the Carrier USS Enterprise, where he did one world cruise and a Mediterranean cruise. Sailing was always Wayne’s love, and golfing also. He married Peggy, his wife of 58 years in July of 1963. He is survived by his wife Peggy (Hogue); his three children Penny Rogers (Pat), Michelle Szubinski Mulder (Dann), Duane Szubinski (Rhonda) and his nine grandchildren he loved dearly, Derek Miller, Darren Miller, Chris Werra, Kaillie Werra, Zachary Werra, Sarah Szubinski, Paul Szubinski, Jake Rogers, Jessica Rogers; his great grandchildren Airiebella, Greyson, Sylas, Audrina, Bryson and Jerry. Wayne is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Nelson (Frank) and John Szubinski (Jean). Wayne’s brothers George and Joseph preceded him in death also. He also leaves his sisters-in-law Mary Starnes of Paris, TN and Linda (Hal) Lindsay of Sparta, MI, several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Wayne was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the American Legion. For many years he was the owner and operator of Commercial Cleaning Services in the community of Sparta. The family will receive visitors Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd NW where the Rosary will be prayed Monday at 7:00 pm. The Funeral service with military honors will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home where his family will receive visitors from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The Shriners.
