Tributes

Mrs. Vera Herda nee Niewiadomski, age 92, of Grand Rapids went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 3, 2021. Vera was preceded in death by her husband Stanley; her son in law Larry Robertson; her seven siblings and their spouses. She will be deeply missed by her children Deb (Marv) Hanna, Judy (Jim) Zaskowski, Greg (Marie) Herda and Pam Robertson; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; brother in law Pete Nowicki. She enjoyed crocheting, making afghans for each of her grandchildren. Vera was a member of Polish Falcons Ladies Auxiliary since she was 18 years old and a member of a local Westside Senior group where she enjoyed playing bingo and the occasional bus trip to the casino. She was a fan of the Redwings, but her greatest pleasure was being with family. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 9, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church where she will repose one hour before the Mass. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, December 8, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Mortuary, 585 Stocking Ave NW where the Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and Emmanuel Hospice.
