Timothy "Tim" Matthew Jonio Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Timothy “Tim” Matthew Jonio age 62, of Grand Rapids, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Tim was born to Ray and Katherine (Lindberg) Jonio in rural Coopersville, MI. Tim graduated from Coopersville High School, where he excelled at sports and met the love of his life, Cathy Spicer. They married in 1980 and together they raised 3 children and were blessed with 6 grandchildren. Tim worked in tree service with his brother for a time before transitioning to the grocery distribution business. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with family and friends, golf and hunting, and accompanying Cathy at casinos and on cruise ships, but his greatest joy was in attending his grandkids events and cheering them on. Tim was a hard-headed, kind-hearted and fun-loving jokester who liked to make others laugh. He could prank & pester like none other, but we all knew that was his love language! His generous and jovial spirit and larger-than-life presence will be deeply missed. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother as well as several in-laws. Tim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cathy; children, Sarah & Jason Lake, Sondra & Mark May, and Seger & Stacy Jonio. He was a very proud “Papa” to Andrew & Alex Lake and Mia, Anna, Peyton, and Isaiah May, who will miss his ever supportive presence in their lives. Tim is also survived by brothers, Rodney Jonio, Dennis Jonio, Donal (Holli) Jonio, and Patrick (Laura) Jonio; sisters, Sue (Eddie) Jones, Nan (Michael) VanderVoord, Mary (Lew) McPherson and Lori Jonio, as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In keeping with Tim's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will greet relatives and friends Monday June 20th 12 to 2PM at Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuaries, 3525 Remembrance RD NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534.
