    Thomas "Rusty" Anisko

    June 13, 1956 - February 21, 2021

Thomas “Rusty” Anisko, age 64 of Grand Rapids, MI died peacefully in his sleep, while on a fishing trip in the Florida Keys. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Louis Anisko and brother Mike “Skinner” Anisko. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Coleen Anisko; and children Andrew Anisko, Megan (Chad) Anthony, Matthew Anisko; sister Patricia (Jim) Heitzman; brother Joseph (Sandra ) Anisko and many nieces/nephews and lifelong friends. He graduated from West Catholic High School in 1974. He attended Michigan State University and later Grand Valley State University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree. He was a teacher for 4 years, and then began his career in the construction industry where he retired after 40 plus years. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy while fishing, hunting, and golfing. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy, playing crazy eights and cribbage, listening to his record collection, and attending live concerts with family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to go on a road trip, whether it was riding his Harley- Davidson or riding in a car, the scenic route was a must. He was a fan of the Detroit Tigers and Michigan State Spartans and jumped at the chance to see them live, often being the loudest one cheering. He always was the life of the party telling endless stories and jokes. He was proud of his Polish heritage, sharing his love for Polish food and Polka music with everyone, and was a member of 5th street hall St. Adalbert’s Aid Society for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church where he will repose one hour prior to the Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. His family will receive visitors Sunday 3-7 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance NW. Masks and social distancing are required. The funeral will be live streamed at www.saparish.com Memorial Contributions to Kids Food Basket or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
