Michael Raymond Schlinz

March 18, 1954 - February 26, 2021

Michael Raymond Schlinz, 66, passed away on Thursday, February 25th peacefully in his home. He was born to parents Lester Raymond Schlinz and Doris Elaine Sullivan on March 18th 1954 in Dearborn, Michigan. Mike graduated from Central in Grand Rapids, Michigan and continued on to receive his Master’s degree in social work at Western Michigan University. Mike became to be an upstanding social worker in many counties from Kalamazoo to St. Joe and while some may have been apprehensive by his brass demeanor and skills, he was admired and looked up to by many. Mike is survived by his mother Doris Elaine Sullivan, daughters Isabelle Schlinz and Ci’Ji Ryder (Katie Ryder), his grandchild Lincoln Louise Ryder, as well as his brothers Dan Schlinz, Robert (Karen) Schlinz, and Johnny Schlinz (Cathy Schlinz) and his sisters Barbie Salik (Scott Salik), Carol Tarala, Diane Jankowiak (Tim Jankowiak) and Susie Schlinzklein (Dave Schlinzklein) along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mike was known for his thunderous laugh and adventurous spirit. Mike wasn’t only a hard worker, he played hard too. He was never one to turn down the next thrill. Mike cherished his family and friends and would always offer a helping hand, no matter what. The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4th from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Arsulowicz Brothers Mortuaries at 937 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI. There will be an additional visitation Friday, March 5th at 10:00am preceding the service at 11:00am. Both will be held at Bella Vista Church at 5100 Belding Rd. NE Rockford, MI. The Funeral service will be livestreamed on You Tube- Lake Bella Vista Church , Rockford MI.
