Marie Annetta Raines (Rogers)

June 26, 1934 - July 18, 2020

Marie Annetta Raines (Rogers) age 86 of Grand Rapids passed away on Saturday July 18, 2020. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Benny Lee Raines, her son David Raines, her granddaughter Ashley Raines and her brother William Rogers. She is survived by her daughter Denise (the late John) Clelland; her grandchildren Tim Burns, Shana Burns (Thomas), Brandon Burns (Ashely), David Lee Raines and Benny Lee Raines; great grandchildren Timothy Jack Burns, Hudson Lee Burns-Drobny, Trinity Marie Burns, Kyleigh Denise Manning, Haven Annetta Raines; siblings Joseph (Theresa) Rogers, Caroline (Joe) Loney, Della Norgan; many nieces and nephews, and good friend Mary Beth (Ken) Frey. In Marie’s younger years she played professional softball. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3023 and of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed being a professional knitter and crocheted in her free time, supplying the local hospitals with many baby hats for the NICU and PICU. Marie will always be remembered as a great cook who enjoyed canning to keep her recipes great. The Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd NW.
