    Kathleen Marie Mullane

    April 30, 1957 - July 8, 2021

Kathleen Marie Mullane, age 64 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully Thursday July 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Genevieve, her brother Patrick, and her baby sister Patricia. Surviving are her children Joseph, Alissa and Kaitlin; 8 grandchildren; her two brothers Robert and Thomas Mullane; and many nieces and one nephew. Kathleen adored her children and grandchildren, loving each as if he or she was her only child or grandchild. She especially enjoyed sharing her love of nature by accompanying them to beaches, on daily walks, and to many area parks. Showing a firm hand at times, knowing we all need direction at times, mom knew when to let go, and let her children find their own paths. As her children grew, they knew with certainty they could return to mom’s open arms, her heart and home, no matter how life had treated them along the way. Her love of children was unending; Kathleen loved her nieces and nephews, and was “everybody’s grandma” during the many years she provided daycare. When a friend or acquaintance was in need, Kathleen freely opened her home with warmth, grace, and dignity. Kathleen loved and was loved by her many friends, Brookside Christian Reformed Church where she was member, and her extensive church community. Kathleen’s beautiful outlook on life was projected through her business endeavor, Kathleen’s Greens, where she created and maintained flower and plant arrangements for area businesses including Charley’s Crab, numerous other restaurants, banks, and countless local businesses. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday July 17 at 12:00 Noon at Brookside Christian Reformed Church, followed by a luncheon. Please keep in mind, Kathy was a plant lady and loved potted plants. Please send them to Brookside Christian Reformed Church, preferably before Noon on Friday July 16 or between 10 AM and 12 Noon on Saturday July 17.
