Judy Ann Johnson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Judy Ann Johnson, 67, of Rockford Michigan, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday March 9, 2022, supported by her loving family. Judy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in August of 1954, to Frederick and Norma (Hillebrand) Johnson. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Karen (Johnson) Alflen, and stepfather Michael Kopec. She is survived by her brothers Fred (Joyce) Johnson of Rockford, Dan (Theresa) Johnson of Comstock Park and Tom (Julia) Johnson of Holland, nephews and nieces Michael & Rebecca, Patrick & Jennifer, Kyle & Caitlin Johnson, Kayla & Tyler Lapp, Nathaniel, Caroline and Lydia Johnson, great nephews and nieces Deacon, Alessandra, and Emerson Johnson, Isabella and Kodiak Lapp, stepdaughters Samantha Vareen, Jessica Killgallon, many friends and the love of her life Randy C. Joppie of Wyoming. Judy worked in the Grand Rapids area for 25 years in Telecommunications Sales positions for various companies including Executone, Anixter, AT&T, and Graybar. She was dedicated to service early in life to the Grand Rapids Jaycees and later to Gilda’s Club. Judy loved creating arts and crafts items, journaling, and was dedicated to Christian scripture study. She enjoyed leading a bible study and sharing meals with memory care patients at Story Point Assisted Living Facility where she lived. Judy will be remembered for her eternal optimism anchored in her Christian faith throughout her 15 years of health challenges. She attended Mount Mercy High School and graduated from Grand Rapids West Catholic High School. Her family will receive visitors on Monday March 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Chapel, 3525 Remembrance Rd NW with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:30pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday March 15 at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, 300 Sheldon Blvd. SE Grand Rapids, MI. where the family will also receive visitors for one hour prior to the Mass. Private interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
