Mr. Jan Cydzik age 82 of Grand Rapids born February 13, 1938 in Poland, was received into the loving arms of Our Lord on Sunday November 8, 2020. He now rejoins his beloved wife Janina Cydzik (Boron); his parents Emilia and Kazimierz; his siblings Franek, Henyk, Stasia and Anton. Surviving are his loving children Donna (Joseph) Alicki, Stan (Wiesia) Cydzik, Myra (Michael) Iacovoni, and twin sons Mark and John Cydzik; grandchildren Jennifer (Vincent) Estes, Blaise (Nikki) Alicki, Patrick (Vidushi) Alicki, Michael Hawley, Erica Cydzik, Matthew (Cassidy) Cydzik, Katie Hawley, Jacob Cydzik and Zoe Cydzik, McKenzie Iacovoni, Zachary Iacovoni and Nicholas Iacovoni; great grandchildren Isaiah, Paige, Kyra, Nalah, Ava, Nadalie, Quinn, Evan, Gabriel, William and Anna; also surviving are his beloved sister Zofia Szpak; and many nieces and nephews in Poland and Belarus. Jan served in the Russian Military as a Master Sergeant. He came to the United States October of 1964. He was a longtime parishioner of St. James Church and later with Blessed Sacrament Church. Jan retired from Steelcase after 25 years of service. Jan enjoyed gardening, U of M football, West Catholic football, the Detroit Tigers but especially the Sunday dinners with his family. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Grand Rapids where he will repose one hour before the Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers East Mortuary, 937 Michigan St. NE where the Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 6:30 PM. Memorial contributions to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church will be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of Clark Community and Mercy Health St. Mary’s for the care and compassion shown to Jan.
