Esther was a beautiful, sweet, faithful, giving, loving, and hardworking Mother and wife. She was a compassionate and devoted mother who set an amazing example of how to serve others. Her unwavering love for her children will always be remembered. Her kitchen was always filled with the smell of home cooked food; and she found joy in feeding family with her love of cooking. Esther was in her glory to host holidays, including Easter egg hunts for her grandchildren. She always put her family’s needs before her own and she displayed the true meaning of unconditional love. You often found Esther visiting Grand Haven for their famous Pronto Pups and she always made a stop for ice cream on the way home. She also had a love for music and dance, especially the Polka. If you didn’t know it, white was her favorite color! She was strong in her faith and helped with various church duties including cooking for funeral luncheons. Not only did she take care of her family and home, she retired from the Grand Rapids Press after 37 years of service. She was a very classy and selfless woman and her contagious energy will be greatly missed.
