Mr. Dennis Tarachanowicz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Dennis Tarachanowicz age 71 of Grand Rapids went to be with Lord on Friday December 31, 2021. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 46 years Kathryn “Kathy” Tarachanowicz (Hoogerhyde); his children Danielle (Patrick) Robinson, AJ Tarachanowicz II, Bradley Tarachanowicz, Corey Tarachanowicz (Jessica Conrad); his grandchildren Lake and Jackson Robinson, Alexis Tarachanowicz and Daisy Orellana, Madison and Bailey Tarachanowicz; his brother Larry (Ronnie) Tarachanowicz; nephews Shawn (Kristi) and Kevin (Tiffany) Tarachanowicz; his mother-in-law Barb Hoogerhyde; his brothers-in-law Mike (Cheryl), Mark (Becky) and Don (Laurie) Hoogerhyde; his sister-in-law Barb (Rick) Hayes; many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Florence Tarachanowicz; his nephew Brian Tarachanowicz; his father-in-law Donald Hoogerhyde. Dennis was a lifelong Westsider. He attended Sacred Heart School and West Catholic High School Class of 1968. He attended Aquinas College and received his Bachelor Degree from Davenport College. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, Notre Dame Football and the Detroit Tigers. Dennis enjoyed golf, bowling, softball, visiting the Polish Halls (a member of Laddies and a lifetime member of Polish Falcons), camping up north and attending the annual Wheatland Music Festival, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He volunteered bringing holy communion to the Kent County Correctional Facility and to Spectrum Health Hospital. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday January 7 at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Church. His family will receive visitors at the church Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
