    Barbara Ann Jendrasiak

    August 6, 1934 - March 6, 2022

Barbara Ann Jendrasiak (Rau), age 87, of Grand Rapids, was welcomed home on March 6, 2022. Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Jendrasiak; her parents, Clifford and Margaret Rau; mother-in-law, Clara Jendrasiak; sister-in-law, Carlene Rau and her nephew Lee Rau. She is survived by her three children, Kathy (Dion) Lefler; Michael (Jan Huisken) and Paul (April); her brother, Raymond Rau; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jendrasiak; grandchildren Kyle Lefler, Braden Lefler, and Emma Snyder; nieces Melanie Rau, Briana (Justin) Rossi, Jayme Heim (Michael), Judy Martin (Larry) and nephews, John Jendrasiak (Julie) and Glenn (Priscillia) Rau. Barb's life was one of service to God, her family, friends, and community. Her lifelong commitment to service was instilled in her by her loving parents, large extended family, and her strong Catholic faith. Barb graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central, attended Michigan State University, and had a fulfilling career as a social worker. She met her husband Ron while working as a social worker and they married on December 27, 1958. Barb always wanted to be a mother and when her children were born she stayed home to raise her family. She instilled her faith and values in her children and they always knew how much she loved them. Barb knew she was called to volunteer and have an impact in her community. She served at her church, St. Stephens, her children's schools, numerous hospital guilds, Lawyer Referral, and Women's Resource Center, to name just a few. Barb later worked in the medical records department at Metropolitan Hospital. Barb treasured her friends - and she had many. Her circle of friends even included elementary school classmates from St. Alphonsus. Barb was always ready to play a game of cards, enjoy chocolate and provide a listening ear and kind words of support and encouragement. Her family would like to thank the staff at American House Kentwood/Cobblestone and Baldwin House for their friendship and compassionate care of Barb. Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2022, from 10:00 am-11:00 am at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 750 Gladstone, East Grand Rapids. A memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 am, with a luncheon for everyone after in the Parish Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Women's Resource Center, 678 Front Ave., #180, Grand Rapids, MI, 49504 or https://grwrc.org/
