Virginia Lorraine LeMire

Virginia Lorraine LeMire, age 90, of Grand Rapids, passed on peacefully at her home on Monday, September 22nd. She is survived by her children Michele LeMire, Steve (Teresa) LeMire of Irvine, California, Cindy Malloy and friend Don McCready, Terry (Jean) LeMire, Dave (Marie) LeMire, Vonnie (Bob) Clark, and Gerard “Joe” (Stephanie) LeMire, 27 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister Evelyn Roman, sisters and brothers-in-laws Ed and Mary Hiaeshutter, Fran and Connie LeMire, Bill Madden, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Deacon R. George LeMire, parents Julius and Mathilda Bohr, brothers Wilfred (Stacey) Bohr, Gerald (Vicky) Bohr, Brother James Bohr, sisters Rosaline (Ed) Duba, Norine Bohr, Joan Madden, Mary Ellen (Jim) Koelzer, brothers and sisters-in-law Harold (Joan) LeMire, Auverne LeMire, George (Denise) Brannick, and son-in-law Chris Malloy. Ginny was devoted to her faith and family. She, along with Deacon George, instilled the Christian values that are the foundation of their legacy. The door was always open and their busy home was filled with love. She was devoted to our Blessed Mother and led the rosary with her friends for many years. She was a talented singer who, along with her sisters “The Bohr Girls” could be heard singing all over Grand Rapids, beginning in their early years at St. Alphonsus, in churches within the diocese, and on the radio. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Choir for many years and was known as the “Class Warbler” at Davis Tech in 1942. She was a die-hard Tiger fan to the end. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, September 26th, at 11:00 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2275 Diamond NE with Father George Darling as celebrant. The family will meet relatives and friends at Arsulowicz East, 937 Michigan NE, Thursday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 9 and one hour prior to the service on Friday at church. A Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 and a Scripture Service at 8:00 on Thursday. Interment Fairplains Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church.
