Stasia Stasiulewicz

Stasia Stasiulewicz – beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother – passed away at 10pm on July 5th, 2023, in her living room in Grand Rapids, Michigan, surrounded by her family both physically and virtually. Born in Poland on September 20th, 1935, she lived a remarkable life dedicated to her family and serving others. Stasia's boundless love and selflessness made her the bedrock of the entire family, leaving an indelible impact on all who knew her. Stasia is survived by her loving husband, Stanislaw Stasiulewicz, and their three children, Wojciech Stasiulewicz and Jolanta Jarzabek, Ania and Jacek Babkowski, and Jaroslaw and Jolanta Stasiulewicz. Her grandchildren, Kamil and Erika Stasiulewicz, Stephan and Sophie Stasiulewicz, Eva, Mikolaj and Monica Stasiulewicz, and Pawel and Iza Babkowski Mateusz and Agata Stasiulewicz and Marek Stasiulewicz Her Great-Grandchildren Paulina, Antoni, and Andrzej Stasiulewicz. Her family meant the world to her, and she cared for everyone with boundless love and dedication. Known for her exceptional culinary skills, Stasia was an incredible cook who never allowed anyone to leave her home hungry. Her love language was serving and giving, and she gave of herself tremendously to ensure the happiness and satisfaction of those around her. It was a joy for Stasia to welcome visitors into her home, and anyone who stopped by would find themselves seated on a small stool by the window in the corner of her kitchen, being treated to a feast. Stasia had an incredible talent for creating delicious three-course meals out of seemingly nothing at all. For almost three decades she transformed her home into a place bursting with love and warmth. For instance, her cooking during Vigilia - Polish Christmas Eve - was legendary, and the flavors and aromas she brought to the table will be cherished and missed by all. A devotee of St Pope John Paul II, Stasia prayed for her family incessantly and always kept her rosary on hand (A few of her grandchildren may not have made it this far without her intercession). Stasia possessed wisdom and a sharp mind until the very end. Her presence will forever be missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Stasia Stasiulewicz is remembered as an incredible woman who embodied love, selflessness, and the joy of serving others. We take comfort knowing that she has gone to the Heavenly family and keeps watch over us even now. We wish to celebrate her exceptional life and honor the legacy she leaves behind. May her soul find eternal peace and may her family and loved ones find comfort and joy in the many memories and happy years they were privileged to share with her, and the knowledge that we will all be together again one day. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday July 11 at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where the family will receive visitors one hour prior to the Mass.
