Robert Henry Kozlowicz

Robert Henry Kozlowicz, 80, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda and devoted father to Benjamin (Kirsten), Joel (Stephanie), Nicholas (Hillary), Leah, and Joshua Kozlowicz. He was also a proud grandfather to five cherished grandchildren: Oscar, Ingrid, Sami, Max, and Henryk. Born on January 26, 1945, in Grand Rapids, Bob was the second of four children of Walter and Isabel Kozlowicz. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Paul (Joann) Kozlowicz and Kelvin (Emily) Kozlowicz, and is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Greg) Kolakowski. He grew up as a member of Holy Spirit Parish and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1963. He went on to earn degrees in auto service and education from Ferris State University, where he built lasting friendships and was always known for his infectious laughter. Bob met the love of his life, Linda, in 1968 at Dog n Suds. Their romance blossomed quickly, often visiting the family farm in Dorr. On one autumn drive home, they decided to marry—and did so the following May. For the next 55 years, Bob and Linda shared a simple, joyful life rooted in love and mutual support. A tireless provider, Bob instilled in his family a deep appreciation for hard work and perseverance. His passion for understanding how things worked led him to a career as an auto mechanic, and later, as an industrial machine mechanic. But his mechanical talents extended far beyond the workplace—he was always lending a hand on a home improvement project or fixing cars for family and friends. He generously passed down his knowledge and problem-solving spirit to his children and those around him. Bob was a devoted and present father, engaged his children's lives. He found joy in the everyday—traveling to see family, cooking meals, camping and fishing, and supporting his children’s activities. In turn, they embraced the things that brought him comfort and happiness, including sharing their best dad jokes, a family tradition he loved. He had lifelong passions for motor racing and fishing. In his younger years, he was often at the racetrack or in the garage. Later in life, he found just as much joy watching races on TV and casting a line with his children and grandchildren. Though Bob is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the laughter, love, and countless memories he gave us. He cherished every relationship in his life and never missed a chance to share a joke. There’s always a reason to laugh—but when Bob was around, we all laughed a little louder. We know he's in heaven now, making those who went before him laugh again—and we look forward to hearing that laugh once more someday. The funeral service will include a visitation on Monday, June 2 from 5 to 7 pm with a vigil to follow at Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Chapel at 3525 Remembrance Road. The funeral mass will be on Tuesday, June 3 at 11 am at the Church of the Holy Spirit at 2230 Lake Michigan Drive where his family will receive visitors one hour prior to the Mass with a luncheon to follow at the St George Peter & Paul's Aid Society at 1513 Quarry Ave NW.
