Richard B. 'Dick" Oole

Richard B. “Dick” Oole age 75 croaked (His words) on January 30, 2025. Born on February 2, 1949 to Earle “Bud” and Helen Oole. He was the youngest of three boys, Frank, Tom and Dick. He graduated from Grand Rapids Central High School then received his Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan where he began his lifetime commitment to the Wolverines! Go Blue! He followed that with a law degree from Stetson University passing the Florida and Michigan Bar exams, giving him a distinguished career where he celebrated 50 years in both states. He had been an active member of Bostwick Lake Congregational UCC, Rockford Lions Club, U of M Club of Grand Rapids and very proud of coaching son, Christopher, in Rockford Little League Baseball. He surrounded himself with an extensive collection of nautical (ocean liner and Great Lakes), music, art, history and train memorialbilia that filled his home on Silver Lake and his Normandie office building with so many fascinating items! He is survived by his son, Christopher Oole (Tanya Burkhart). His wife, Michelle Oole, who he courted and married on July 4th so he always celebrated the anniversary with fireworks! The addition of her two sons, Dan (Lisa) Ampulski and Evan (Danielle) Ampulski, brought “their” three boys “circle” back around. Grandchildren followed with granddaughter Julia Grace Oole and William James Ampulski. Dick is also survived by brother Tom (Sandy) Oole, sisters-in-law Diane Oole, Sue Oole, Chris Walendzik, Karen (Bob) Eggerding, brother-in-law Ron (Donna) Walendzik, niece Shari Oole and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank Oole and brother-in-law Larry Walendzik., He celebrated life with mirth and mischief. If he liked you he teased you. Friendships lasted his lifetime. Especially close were Bob, Chet, Dan, David, Dennis, Eric, Jerry, Roger, Vince, Al and Terri. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Bostwick Lake Congregational Church United Church of Christ located at 7979 Belding Rd NE, Rockford, MI. Visitation 10:30 - 11:30. Service at 11:30. In lieu of flowers please consider contributions to Bostwick Lake Congregational church or Bostwick Lake Congregational church Memorial Garden.
