Mrs. Patricia Anne Morrin

Mrs. Patricia Anne Morrin, 88, a beloved mother, passionate and faithful believer, and loving wife and mother to 5 passed away of March 18, 2025. Born on July 15, 1936, Patricia loved and cherished her faith and her family above all other things and her loss is an immeasurable one Patricia cherished her faith and it was central to her life. She loved her church, her family and her books. Many evenings were spent in the front room of her family home where Patricia found solace and joy in reading. She shared her passion for reading first by making it a habit to read to her children each evening, then by serving for several years as a librarian at St Isidore’s Elementary School. The kids there loved to visit her there. Her book recommendations were always good ones but her example as a passionate and dedicated reader was invaluable. She also served for many years as an assistant in the rectory of St Isidore’s parish where she made such a name for herself and such an impact on the parish that for many years her sons would be mistakenly called “Pat” by some of the priests serving there. Patsy as my father sometimes called her was married for 64 years to her husband, Edward Morrin, and together they nurtured and maintained a loving bond that remained unshaken even through the separations brought on by his military service and the tragic passing of Edward Andrew, one of their sons. As a couple, they nurtured their relationship by going out for weekly “date nights” during which they would meet with friends, go to the movies, or go dancing. The couple did seemingly everything together. Patricia and Edward Morrin were committed to one another in the truest sense of the word. Mom could surprise us too. Our brother’s wedding was one such occasion. When mom and dad took to the dance floor to do some swing dancing on that night, we were both shocked at the skill and charmed by the sight. Her enthusiastic support for her daughter’s cheerleading moves at Catholic Central High School was another unforgettable moment in which she managed to be both completely supportive and slightly embarrassing, all while making sure to have fun. Of course, the entire cheerleading team loved her for it Our mother, Patricia A Morrin will be greatly missed by her 4 surviving children, Katherine, James, Michael, and Mary as well as her beloved daughter in law Margaret and her grandchildren Susan, Emily, Sarah, Jim, Anna, and Mark and her 5 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday March 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Isidore Church, where she will repose one hour prior to the Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Her family will receive visitors Monday March 24, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers East Mortuary, 937 Michigan St NE. A Rosary will be held Monday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. To honor Patricia’s legacy and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to two of her favorite charities: Tunnels to Towers and the Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals.
