Patricia Suzanne Frede

Patricia Suzanne Frede, age 91, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on February 28, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Patricia lived a full and joyful life rooted in family, faith, and community. She was married to Verne Frede for over three decades, and together they welcomed their son, Eric. After their divorce, she married Lynn Frede, with whom she shared many years of companionship, travel and adventure. Patricia was a devoted homemaker, a faithful church volunteer, and for many years lifted her voice in song as a member of the church choir. She worked at Union Bank, later for the Bridgeport School District, and also assisted Lynn with his local business, The Skamt Shop, helping others find adventures of their own. In her own adventures, she cherished the companionship of her beloved dogs-Lady, Dunder, and Luka-who were constant sources of comfort throughout her life. She and Lynn enjoyed traveling together with their travel trailer, especially throughout the southern and eastern states. Camping remained a special joy throughout her life, particularly when she could share it with her grandchildren and make lasting family memories around the campfire. Her greatest joys also came from her many passions at home. A gifted quilter and crafter, she loved creating with her hands-quilting, knitting, and baking countless batches of cookies to share with those she loved. She adored gatherings, whether hosting parties at home or attending celebrations with friends. Her warmth, humor, and welcoming spirit made her a natural at bringing people together. She is survived by her son, Eric (Nancy) Frede; grandchildren Charles (Carmen) Frede, Camille Frede, and Harrison (Renee) Frede; and her great-granddaughter Emersyn Frede; She is also survived by her sister Joann Robertson. She was preceded in death by her sister Gerry Hornberg, first husband Verne Frede and second husband Lynn Frede. Patricia will be remembered for her generous heart, her creative hands, her love of family, and her gift for making every gathering brighter. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the adventures she shared, and the love she gave so freely. A funeral service will be held at Arsulowicz Brothers Mortuaries, 3525 Remembrance Road NW, Walker, Michigan 49534, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. A gathering will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Patricia's memory.
