Mr. Wiley Vickery

Mr. Lowell Wiley Vickery, age 88 of Grand Rapids, a U.S. Naval WWII Veteran, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 30, 2013. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Pauline, his sisters Willie Mae, Martha Ann, infant twin sisters Alberta and Inez, and brother Thurman. Surviving are his brother, the Rev. Robert L. (Charlotte) Vickery Jr., seven children: Donna (Mitchell) Beltz, Deborah (Harlow) Dine, Linda (Dennis) Rumbaugh, David Vickery, Paul (Sue) Vickery, Marianne (Greg) Prusik, Peter (Cris) Vickery; twenty-one grandchildren, Tara (Christopher) , Amy (Layne), Adam, Sarah (Mike), Jonathan, Scott (Kathi), Sue (Andy), Shawn, Stacy, Harold, Melissa, Matthew, Lauren, Andrew, Allison, Daniel, Anna, Kristina, Odin (Amy), Joshua, Stephen; twenty-six great-grandchildren, many special nieces and nephews, special family friend, Betty Gentry, and many dear personal and religious friends throughout West Michigan and the world through Our Lady's Rosary Makers. Lowell founded Our Lady's Rosary Makers in 1957, in partnership with Stanislas Despres. He joined the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima in 1960, along with his wife Pauline. He was a Member of the Sacred Heart Society since April 8, 1959, Member of the American Legion Furniture Post # 258 since 1967, Third Order Franciscan since 1983, and 4th Degree Knight, Assembly Legion # 0473, of the Knights of Columbus. He was a passionate "sidewalk counselor" and pro-life advocate. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal will be Monday at 10:00 am at SS Peter and Paul Church, where he will repose one hour prior. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. His family will receive visitors Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance NW, where a Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 3:30 pm and Monday at 9:15 am at the Church. Despres, 4983 Brownstone Dr. NE, Rockford MI 49341, Right To Life of Michigan, or SS Peter and Paul Church. His family would like to express special thanks to Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their compassionate care of our precious father, especially Becki, his Hospice angel.
