Matthew James Fabbro

Matthew James Fabbro age 64, born July 15, 1958 was called home to his Lord on January 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Fabbro Sr. and Dolly Fabbro, his Brother Arthur Fabbro Jr., Sister-In-Law Rhonda Fabbro, Grandparents Andrew and Margaret Fabbro, George and Bea Miller, Aunts Lucy Fabbro, Sr. Amata Fabbro, Carol Russo and Judy Miller, Uncles Andrew “Skip” Fabbro and Joseph Russo. He is survived by his children Aleena Fabbro and Michael Fabbro, 8 Grandchildren Mya, Alex, Anthony, Trinity, Eathen, Kodii, Noah and Thomas, Greatgrandson Xayden, His Soulmate and Love of his life Chris Weaver, Siblings Deborah (Timothy) Pieri, Mary Fabbro (Marc Frechette), Mark (Karen) Fabbro, Kimberly (Lee) Meyers, Andrew (Carol) Fabbro, many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, GodSon Christopher Miller, Aunt Marlene Fabbro, extended family in MA, many cousins and dear friends. Born number 3 of 7 children Matt always had big ideas. He asked if he could build a tree house. After being gone for a week out of town working his Father came home to a three story tree house he built with extension cords running up the tree for lights on every level! Growing up in a big family we all learned to depend on each other and always protect one another. There were many fights Matt got into defending one of his siblings. He believed in family! Grandpa Andrew was very sick and had been in the hospital suffering for some time. When Matt made his First Communion he made three wishes and asked God to take his Grandpa out of his pain, after church there was a message that he had passed away, he long believed he was responsible for his death. Just one sign of his kind heart! He loved big, always! Material things meant nothing to him. He was a simple man who worked so hard and he never wanted to be in the spotlight. His Grandfather and Father were in the Tile Industry, he took up this same trade and was so very talented. He worked for over 40 years in the Industry until his back couldn’t take it anymore. He guided his two nephews Luke and Alex, who are in the trade now, with a sternness, yet a very profound knowledge of pride, hard work and accountability. They both were very fortunate to work with Matt, though at the time they probably thought “What the What”. If they were working too fast he’d yell and tell them to slow down, if they worked too slow he’d yell and tell them to get moving, and there were some serious swear words in there, he was a perfectionist when it came to work. He put on a rough and mean side, always trying to scare the kids with that frown. Sometimes it worked and he’d laugh but underneath that façade he was the most loving and caring man. He was cautious of revealing himself to people but if you were one of the lucky ones you witnessed his love. He so loved animals and the many pets he had he treated like gold! His last dog Golden Retriever Max was his best friend! The day he had to put him down he had him outside and the sun was shining. He said “Max, it’s a beautiful day to die”. It broke his heart. Matt was a very selfless man who would be there if you needed help with anything and not expect anything in return, unless you offered him a box of beer LOL! He suffered with pain and breathing problems for many years and the family is very grateful that that pain and fighting for his every breath is now gone. He was a beautiful unique man. Per Matt’s request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank Autumnwood of McBain, MI for their unconditional care and love they provided him in his final days and Arsulowicz Brothers Funeral Home for their care and support on his final wishes. May you finally rest in peace and fly high with the Angels listening to all of the beautiful music, “You Did it Your Way”, God Speed!
