Mary Ann (Uzarski) Frazee

Mary Ann (Uzarski) Frazee, 83, of Baldwin, went to be with her Lord and eternal Savior on Tuesday morning, October 3rd, 2017 under the watchful care of the staff at Metron of Big Rapids. The summer day of June 15th, 1934, proudly welcomed her arrival to first generation Polish-American born parents Joseph and Wanda (Halas) Uzarski. Growing up in Grand Rapids’ Westside, she spent her days playing with neighbors and walking the sidewalks to local parks and pools. Many weekends her family traded the city life for the joys of camping and fishing throughout northern Michigan. Holidays and other special occasions always took place at her maternal grandparent’s home where the tastes and sounds were a mix of both Polish and English. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1952. On Valentine’s Day the following year, she married her sweetheart Ken Frazee. After a two-year period in California supporting his military service as a Marine Corps Sergeant, they settled back home in a Westside community near where she was raised. Mary Ann enjoyed cooking, crafting, reading, dancing, casinos games and others such as bingo, dominoes, and playing cards. During her golden-years over the last twenty-nine years, she was able to travel and see different parts of the US; wintering in Texas for twenty of them. However, decorated throughout with butterflies, she always called a cabin in Baldwin home where the simple pleasures of life on the river, feeding and watching the wildlife never ceased. Mary Ann’s memory is carried on by her husband of sixty-four years, Ken G. Frazee. She is also survived by sons Ken J. (Nancy) Frazee of Irons, Rick A. Frazee of Colorado; grandsons Todd (Amber) Frazee of Traverse City, Nick Frazee (Sarah Sherman) of Grand Rapids; great grandchildren Brooklynn and Emmett Frazee; aunts, Mary (Halas) Sobel and Jane Halas ; as well as many cousins, neighbors and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2230 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI where her family will receive visitors one hour before the Mass. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends and family can meet for viewing on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Arsulowicz Brothers Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd. NW, Walker, MI where Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
