Kenneth Earl Visser Jr.

Kenneth Earl Visser Jr. was called home to our lord on June 13th, 2024. Ken was 60 years old born in Grand Rapids Michigan on December 19th, 1963. He was a West Side Native and lived by the saying “West Side is the Best Side”. Ken graduated from West Catholic High School in the year of 1982, and took part of all the physical activities that they offered. But he truly loved Basketball. All of Kens team would call him ‘Windex’ because “he always wiped the boards clean”. Those of you who knew Ken, he was a competitive spirit and had so many sayings that included “Take your shoes off, because you are gonna smell de-feet”. Ken was an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed; camping, hiking, hunting, and traveling with his wife. His passion was on the river fishing. He was keen in fly fishing and loved tying his own flies. Ken married the love of his life Desirae standing in a river with the beautiful scenery of Alaska. He and Desirae loved to go on many adventures on their Harley scouting out the next places to camp and hike and going to all live music events that they could. They also loved riding with his biker group the ‘Klusterfuks’, where he gained lifelong friends. Ken was a loyal hardworking Construction Manager for over 25 years with Rockford Construction. He was dedicated to his line of work and enjoyed working with his colleagues. Ken was proceeded by his parents Kenneth Visser Sr and AnnMarie Visser, and stepson Zachary. He is survived by his wife Desirae, and their children Jacob (Lindsey), Jessica (Peter), Nathan, Tyler (Samantha), Madison and Jaxson. His grandchildren Addilyn and Avery. And His siblings Karen Smith, Barbara (Jeff) Schalk, and Jackie (Dave) Oosdyke. Nieces and Nephews Brian (Michelle), Mike (Jennell), Kyle, Andrea (Rob), Lauren (Kyle) and all their children as well as many loving cousins. A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday June 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Parish of the Holy Spirit where his family will receive visitors one hour prior to the Mass. Celebration of life will be held at Ironwood Bar and Grill following the service at 2:00pm. Memorial contributions to West Catholic Athletic Department would be appreciated.
