Mrs. Juanita (Pat) Gillman

Gillman, Pat of Grand Rapids, MI was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2020 after a Gladiator Style fight with Lung Cancer. She passed on peacefully with her Husband (Gordon Gillman) of 57 years by her side along with her children Jeff, Scott, and Tina Gillman. Pat was proceded in death by her beloved mother and best friend Hilda Rolla. She is survived by her loving husband Gordon Gillman, Mother-in-law Mary Jean Gilbert, her two sons Jeff (Chris) Gillman, Scott (Kambra) Gillman, her daughter Christina Gillman, her honorary adopted daughter Erica Morrill Hoogerhyde and the loves of her life her Grandchildren Derek, Nicole, Jack, Ben, & Kaizlee. She also leaves behind a list of people too long to mention whose lives she touched with love and grace that should all know she is still there looking over you today. Pat was born in Bay City, MI but spent a lot of her early childhood growing up on the family farm in Oscoda, that she was very happy to have visited recently. After making her 3 children her #1 priority, she went back to school to earn both her High School & College Degree after which she enjoyed working in the Medical Field for 20 + years. She was a part of the Berlin Baptist Church, not only has a member, but as family with cherished friendships. Her favorite things in life were to be with family. She always put together the most fabulous family gatherings for every event, Christmas, Thanksgiving, really every holiday and everyone’s Birthday. She never missed a, game, meet, concert, or special event her children and grandchildren were part of. She really enjoyed getting away to their place up at Silver Lake to relax and read a book or to spend time with family and friends. It was truly one of her happy places. She was full of warmth, wisdom, kindness, and love that she would share with anyone who needed it. She was a second Mom to many. She gave great hugs and had a smile that made you think everything was going to be okay. She will truly be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known her. There will be a hole in our hearts and lives until we see and embrace her again. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24 at 11:00AM at Berlin Baptist Church, where she will repose one hour prior. The family will receive visitors from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, January 23 at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd NW. Memorial contributions to the American Lung Association will be appreciated.
