Jon Almon Gardner

Jon Almon Gardner, age 69 of Marne, MI walked on, July 9th, 2025. Preceded in death and welcoming him home in Heaven, his Parents, Father Almon Gardner, Mother June Rittenhouse, Uncle's; Richard and Lenny Rittenhouse, Aunt's; Virginia Isiak, Joyce Rodolfi, Barbara Ensley, Nancy Rittenhouse and Mary KorHorn. His Brother Richard Gardner, Sister-in-law Ruth, Nephew Kenny Towers, his loved Twin Grandchildren, also many close cousins and friends along with his favorite Mother-in-Law, Lynn Baker. Full circle, Jon took his first breaths, back in January 26th, 1956 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mi, and after a long fought 112 day battle with complications from many bouts of pneumonia and having to be on a ventilator for life support, Jon inevitably took his last and final fighting breaths at Blodgett hospital while surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his Loving Wife, Vicki of 44 years of marriage, and will be greatly missed by Son Cody, Daughter Lynnae (Sabir) Randall. Siblings; Sister Barb Spedowski (Jeff), Brothers; Rob (Joanie), Jack (Codi), Matt Marshall, and Brother-in-law Troy Baker. He is and always will be Lovingly remembered by his Grandkids; Caden Burnett, Aniyah, Savayla and Haazim Randall, also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. How do you sum up the words to tell people how great of a Dad he was? How do you sum up how wonderful of a Grandpa he was? How do you sum up how great of a Husband, Brother, Uncle, Father-in-law, and dear Friend he was? How the hell do you pick such limited words? To summarize and tell someone's story? How do you pick just one picture out of a lifetime of memories? Jon was a retired Carpenter of over 40 years, but really a jack of all trades. In his retirement. He enjoyed working part-time at the auto auction, working alongside some really good folks who became close friends. He could build anything, fix everything, loved riding his motorcycle, hanging out enjoying a cold one at the shop with the guys on Friday's, could smoke a mean bbq brisket, loved fishing, hunting and had a deep love for music. A wonderful Husband who was always there for his Wife and Kids and especially his Grandkids. All the ball games, milestones, concerts, tournaments, etc. He was there number one supporter, hands down! He was "GRAMPY". A great provider, a knowledgeable soul, Jon was a proud Native American and an Elder at Little River band of Ottawa Indians. He was trusting, and dependable. He didn't have patience for people who were late, Stern when needed, yet compassionate and not afraid to be emotional. You felt his presence when he entered the room. He made people laugh and wasn't afraid to ruffle some feathers when needed. He was always the life of the party. Sometimes hot-headed but always a heart of gold. He had so much knowledge inside his head still yet to be soaked up by others, yet so much love in his heart that was soaked up by all family and friends that knew him. Per his wishes, Jon was cremated and will be laid to rest at the Marne cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 5th at Arsulowicz Brothers Mortuaries. Visitation starts at 3:00 p.m. with a service starting at 4:00 p.m. Immediately following the service, the family will be hosting a short memorial ride and vehicle procession to the celebration of life AKA Jon's last "Big Ass Party" (per his wishes, no sappy funeral) For anyone who would like to ride or drive, all are welcome for Jon's "Last and Final Ride". The Celebration will take place at the "Glass Door", at 1390 Maple, Marne MI 49435, where there will be music, food and drinks followed up by a bonfire where friends and family will tell stories, trade laughter, share memories, and salute a life well had. (Bring a chair for fire) Since Jon was a connoisseur of all fine foods and cheap beer, he could appreciate a good ole' potluck. " A lil' of this, a lil' of that". Please consider bringing a dish or dessert to pass. Prepared hot or cold food dishes can be dropped off at 1390 Maple, Marne, Mi 49435, ahead of the service.
