Janina Rodriguez

Janina (Jane) Mary Rodriguez, age 78, of Grand Rapids, MI, loving wife and mother, passed away on April 11, 2020. Jane was born in Anyksciai, Lithuania on June 12, 1941, and immigrated to the USA with her parents and three older siblings in 1949. She raised her six children who she adored in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jane and her husband Jesse felt incredibly blessed to have found each other as immigrants from Lithuania and Mexico, and wed on July 24, 1987. They built a happy, fulfilling life with 32 years of marriage, and proudly became American citizens together. She enjoyed country music, dancing, playing cards, conversing, and making new friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Jesus (Jesse) Rodriguez; children Rose Alcantar-Bardwell (Larry), Calvin Holmes, Victoria Taylor and Lorna Sivertsen; stepchildren Jesus H. Rodriguez, Rosalinda Rodriguez and Esperanza Rodriguez-Rencher; grandchildren Dominic (Dayonne), Amanda, Anthony, Marie, Joshua, Jessika, Jason (Becky), Jessica (Jerry), Joseph, Jenny, Nicole and Vincent; step grandchildren Jesse, Felicia, Francisco, Brianna, Bianca, and William; great grandchildren Destiny, Daven, Isaiah, Destiny, Jacob, Siella, Arianna, Gavin, Riley, Jasper, Madison, Harper, Adriann, Miya, and Genevieve; siblings Anthony Petronis, Angela Jackson, Genevieve Coykendall and Joseph (Mary Lou) Petronis, and many more family members. She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Julia Petronis, daughters Julia Holmes and Jeannie Griffith, and stepson Agapito Rodriguez. Jane will always be remembered for her Roman Catholic faith, bold fashion, funny sayings, joy for conversation, and most of all her pride and love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grand-children. A private family service occurred at Chapel Hill Cemetery and a celebration of Jane's life will be scheduled at a future date.
