Gregory Arthur Vanocker

Gregory Arthur Vanocker, Age 56, passed away on Thursday, September 28 surrounded by his family and friends at the Butterworth Hospital Campus of Spectrum Health. Greg succumbed to injuries resulting from a hit & run auto-motorcycle crash on Monday, September 18, 2023. Greg was born on October 5, 1966 in Grand Rapids, MI. Greg attended West Leonard Elementary, Harrison Park Middle School, and Union High School 85'. During his teenage and early adult years, Greg worked at the B & B Party Stores on Leonard and 28th Street with his cousin Jay. The last eighteen years, Greg worked as a Press Operator at Challenge Manufacturing. He enjoyed his job and often worked six to seven days a week at plants in both Walker and Holland, MI. Greg was always a big fan of Rock Music and Frank Sinatra. He was an avid concert goer and went to Woodstock 94'. When growing up, Greg always had the latest and greatest stereo equipment to jam to his music. Greg loved coffee shops and going out to breakfast at any time of the day. He also loved autumn, pumpkin spice, and Christmas trees/lights. Greg raced mountain bikes for many years. In later years, his love for biking carried into motorcycling. Riding his Harley was his favorite thing. He also enjoyed going to his friend Darrin's for bonfires and cooking with the smoker. He loved traveling to Grand Haven and vacationing at Mackinaw Bridge with his daughter, Dalylah. Greg is preceded in death by his older brother Robert Jr (Adele) Vanocker, grandparents Arthur and Alma Lawrence, and Fred and Emily Vanocker. Greg is survived by his daughter, Dalylah, her boyfriend, Brenden, and dogs, Sprinkles and Harley. He is also survived by his parents, Robert Sr & Sandra Vanocker, brother Todd (Kendra) Vanocker, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His family, friends, and dogs will miss him very much. The family will greet visitors at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary 3525 Remembrance Rd. NW, Walker, MI 49534 on Thursday, October 12, from 6pm to 9pm. There will be a time of sharing at 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be Friday, October 13, at 10:30am at St. Adalbert Basilica 654 Davis NW, GR, MI 49504, There will also be visitation from 9:30am - 10:20am before the funeral.
