Frances Zervos (Christopoulos)

Frances Zervos (Christopoulos) age 96, passed away peacefully supported by her loving family on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Frances was born in Grand Rapids Michigan on January 18, 1929. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Nicholas Zervos of Greece. She was also preceded in death by her parents Christos and Sophia Christopoulos, her brothers George Christopoulos (Marilou), Demo Christopoulos (Wilma), and her sister Amelia Botsis (Peter). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other family members. Frances and her husband were proud owners of Crystal Cleaners on Leonard St. for over 40 years. During that time they served many loyal customers some of whom became lifelong friends. Being proud of their Greek Heritage, they often hosted many family members, friends, and neighbors at their home. Frances and Nick also were lifelong members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Grand Rapids. Frances had many interests and hobbies including a love of flowers, reading books, newspapers, and magazines. She was an avid Tigers Fan, and had a sharp sense of humor that she displayed well into her nineties, making it fun to be around her. Nick and Frances were extensive travelers visiting Greece many times as well as traveling to Italy, France, Hawaii, Switzerland, Belgium, England, and Florida. Her family would like to recognize special friends, David and Sherry VanderVelde and neighbors, Rev. Michael and Mary Louise Ott. People all over the west Side also remember Frances and Nick fondly from years at the cleaners. Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Sunday, September 14 from 5 – 7 p.m. A Trisagion Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. that same evening. On Monday, September 15, visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Both will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 330 Lakeside Drive NE, Grand Rapids. Officiants will be Father Dean Botsis, nephew of the deceased, and Father Joshua Pappas. For their compassionate care, the family would like to extend their many thanks to the nurses and staff of Corewell Butterworth Hospital, and Corewell Hospice. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
