Dorothy Ann DeKraker (Witczak)

Dorothy Ann DeKraker (Witczak) age 90 of Grand Rapids, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 28, 2024. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth DeKraker; her sister Winifred Esterley; her brothers Frank, Raymond, Stanley, Alger, Donald, Robert Witczak; her grandchildren Elizabeth and Faith Kline. Surviving are her children Marlene (Robert) Anderson, Gaylynn (Bernie) Kline, Steve (Linda) Champion and Lisa Herrygers; her stepson Doug DeKraker; her grandchildren Caleb (Alohilani) Anderson, Katie Kline, Emily (Alex) Carey, Margaret and William Kline, Chase Champion, Trevor and Abby Herrygers; her step grandchildren Seth (Helen) Miller, Adam (Amanda) Miller, Nick (Carissa) DeKraker, Hannah (Matt) Reens, Rachael (Zach) Tebos; her great grandchildren Avah and Izaak Anderson, Zoey and Vince Carey, Natylee Champion; step great grandchildren Parker, Olivia, Bryce, Makenzy and Emma Miller, Dominick, Annalina, Noelle DeKraker, Avery, Mavis and Matthew Reens, Zara and Declan Tebos; her sisters Eleanor Kelly, Shirley Krajewski and Beatrice Schaap; many nieces and nephews. In 1977 Dorothy married the love of her life Kenneth DeKraker, a great gentleman who became a great father and an awesome grandpa. She loved and encouraged her family in all that they did. Dorothy collected coins … to give them away. She enjoyed country music, her trips to Shipshewana with her sisters, talking on the phone for hours on end, watching figure skating and Dancing with The Stars. A woman of faith she read her bible daily. She will be dearly missed. Dorothy worked as a food demonstrator for Sam’s Club, ran a successful day care and finished her career at Meijer, retiring in 2004. The funeral service will be held Thursday June 6, 2024 at 11:00 am at New Community Church 2340 Dean Lake Ave NE. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour before the service. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday June 5, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd NW. The family would like to thank staff of Allendale Nursing and Rehabilitation Community for becoming part of her family and the staff of Interim Hospice for their care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice.
