Clifford Tang

Clifford Tang went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2024. He will always be remembered as a warrior as he fought the most courageous cancer battle for 4 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, friend, brother, and son. Cliff was born on January 10, 1989 to Christine and Sam Tang in Grand Rapids, MI. He grew up in Wyoming, MI, which included the most fun times with his best friends. He always had fond memories of sleepovers and riding bikes in his neighborhood. Cliff was a 2007 graduate of Rogers High School. Cliff grew up as an only child, but was blessed with friends, Kyle and Samantha Tiller, who were like a brother and sister to him. He also was extremely close with his brother in law, Ryan. Cliff and Ryan were best buds and they have so many memories together from over the years. In 2013, Cliff met his future wife, Nicole, at Grand Rapids Community College. They were married on October 22nd, 2016. They were always deeply connected and loved each other immensely. They loved traveling and trying new restaurants. Cliff was very close with Nicole’s family and they loved him like he was their own son. They took many trips together including an annual trip to Northern Michigan for their long awaited week in their favorite condo on the beach. Some of Cliff’s other favorite trips include road trips to Lake Geneva, WI, Galena, IL, Carmel IN, Key West and Minneapolis, Minnesota to cheer on his beloved Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed going to MSU events like Midnight Madness, going to the Mike Sadler Foundation charity event, MSU football games, and meeting Coach Izzo and Kirk Cousins. He was the best dog dad to chihuahuas, Frankie and Cooper. Cliff always loved looking good. In high school, he won the title of “Best Dressed”. He loved to shop and also had his own sense of style. He also had a “Look good, feel good” mentality. He loved carrying around his Louis Vuitton backpack, even to the gym. Cliff was an avid gym goer and went to the gym almost every day. It was a highlight of his day to lift weights with his friends. His home gym was the Planet Fitness on Alpine and he impacted many lives there. He will never be forgotten. Cliff is survived by his wife of 8 years, Nicole Tang, his parents, Sam Tang and Christine Liu Tang, his mother in law and father in law, MaryAnn and Rick Tyczynski, his brother in law, Ryan Tyczynski, his bonus family: Samantha (LaHaie) and Kyle Tiller, Tammy and Greg Lahaie, & Alizabeth and Tyler Lahaie. We would like to thank the staff at Blodgett Hospital (Floor 4E) and Trillium Woods Hospice for their wonderful care of Cliff. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
