Bonnie Jean Kovacs

Bonnie Jean Kovacs (Mann), 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully at home with family by her side Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Bonnie was born February 21,1947. She grew up in Midland, MI, but spent the majority of her adult life in Grand Rapids, MI. Bonnie enjoyed her professional career as a purchasing agent, but her true passion was life with family, church, and friends. Bonnie was a seeker for God’s truth, always learning, wanting to ask questions of the clergy, and joining a multitude of bible studies. From an early age, Bonnie involved herself in the theatre; and for over 30 years she has been involved with Master Arts Theatre either acting in small roles, set director, director’s assistant, or as a faithful patron. She was a generous soul-she loved to give both of herself and actual gifts. She volunteered at Stephen's Ministry, Ronald McDonald House, Kids’ Food Basket, and multiple other things throughout the years. Most recently, she faithfully facilitated an active card ministry. Bonnie also enjoyed a bowling league for years, and in her later years did so with her two sons and family. She was one of the original members of Beer Mug Club at Founders and would often enjoy a beer there with her sons as well. Bonnie loved to play cards, specifically a 2-3 person game called Strategy. Pontoon rides with her daughter became a favorite of her’s in the last few years. Bonnie’s final earthly gift was donating her body to Michigan State’s Willed Body Program. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 Bonnie will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law Tom and Deb Cook, son Tim Cook, daughter and son-in law Rebecka and Chad Neff; grandchildren Brenton, Breanna, Haley (Donnie), Sophia (Gabe), Emmanuella, Elliott, Sawyer; 5 great grandchildren; siblings Mike Patrick, Ronnie (Gretchen) Mann, Pam Patrick; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and recently brother Dave Patrick. A memorial service will by held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Third Reformed Church, 2060 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
