Barbara Jean Zielinski

Barbara Jean Zielinski, age 95, passed away peacefully in her Wyoming, Michigan home surrounded by her family on November 3rd, 2025. Barbara was born on August 3rd, 1930, to the late Gertrude and Edward Kopanski in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Barbara spent her life caring for others, strangers and family alike. She was a dedicated wife, mother, aunt, sister, godmother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Susan and William TerMolen, Scott and Michelle Zielinski, James and Alecia Zielinski and Sherri and Anthony Menard. She is also survived by her grandchildren Katie (Dave), Jessica (Brian), Jacob (Kyla), Andrew, Adrien, Gabrielle, Mason, Payton and Marissa, and her great grandchildren Jackson, Carter, Mya, Hailee, Isabelle, Abram, Lincoln, Marah, Oakley and Mila and sister-in-law, Nita Kopanski. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Zielinski, and her brother, Ron Kopanski. Barbara is also remembered by many extended family members that will deeply miss her. Barbara loved to be surrounded by her loud, crazy family. A woman of few words but loved to listen to her favorite people share stories, laughs, and the occasional swear word, even though she said she hated it. She was an avid reader and always had a book with her, mostly reading Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele. She loved her Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. She had a servant’s heart and worked for many years at a nursing home taking care of those who needed it the most. The family will receive visitors at Arsulowicz Brothers Mortuary (Remembrance), where a viewing will be from 5pm – 8pm and a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm on Sunday, November 9th. Funeral services will be held the following afternoon on Monday, November 10th at 11am at The Basilica of St. Adalbert in Grand Rapids, MI. where she will repose one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barbara’s honor to the Corewell Health Foundation, Hospice and Palliative Care. Barbara was a true angel walking among us, and we will spend the rest of our lives missing and honoring her.
