Audrey (Duckart)

Audrey (Duckart) Kluting a dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away June 28, 2012 at the age of 61 at home with her family. She was an inspiration to many throughout her illness, handling it with such grace and courage. In the end pancreatic cancer was able to take her body but not her spirit. Audrey grew up in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and spent her adult life in Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Dorothy Duckart, her father-in-law Fritz and brother-in-law Dick Kluting as well as numerous aunts and uncles. She is survived, and will be lovingly remembered, by Duane, her husband of 41 years, her son Steven (Kelly) Kluting, her daughter Kimberly (Mark) Wittkoski and her grandchildren Abigail, Emma and Owen Wittkoski. In addition she is survived by her brothers Don (Nancy) and Bob (Molly) Duckart, her step-mother Bea, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Norm (Bernie), Gary (Charlotte) and Chuck (Cathy) Kluting, Diane (Kevin) Lindberg, Cheryl Miller and Charlotte Maassen, Mother-in-law Agatha Kluting as well as many nieces and nephews. Audrey lived a life devoted to her family and friends, touching many people in such a positive way. She was open, naturally friendly, easy to talk with and made everyone feel comfortable, often surprising people with her humor. She loved tending her beautiful flower garden and spent many hours working to make it special for all those who visited. She enjoyed travel, word puzzles, penny slots and was an exceptionally sharp card player, somehow making the most of every hand she was dealt. Audrey will be especially missed by her children and grandchildren who frequently looked to her for words of encouragement, guidance and direction and she never failed them. Her wisdom and unconditional love brought them back again and again. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she will repose one hour prior to Mass. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Wright. Her family will receive visitors Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance NW where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. The family is grateful to the many people involved in her medical treatment and home care and those who visited, called or sent flowers and cards to brighten her days. Memorials may be made to the Holy Spirit Educational Foundation.
