Ann Duba

Ann Duba, passed away at 95 years old at St. Ann's Home. She was the wife of John Charles Duba [deceased], daughter of George and Catherine [Benko] Niewiadomski, and the mother of Carol Holm, Catherine [Tim] Lee, Anna May Ransdell, George [Cindy] Duba, John [Mary] Duba, and Dan[Denise] Duba. She was the grandmother of fifteen. She would do anything for her grandchildren: Elizabeth Holm, John Holm, Amanda Holm, Stephen Lee, Andrea Lee, Cassie Lee, Moira Lee, Jennifer Reynolds, Mike Ransdell, Allie Duba, Andrew Duba, John Duba III, Karyn Duba, Daniel Duba, and Nicholas Duba. She was also the great grandmother of sixteen. She is survived by her sister Vera Herda and brother George Niewiadomski. Ann was a selfless mother and caring grandmother who wanted to make life happy for each one of her children and grandchildren. She gave without expectation of return—to her family, her church, her schools and to anyone in need. Family meant everything to her, yet she always had time for anyone else in need. She was generous of spirit and accepting in nature. Her huge Chocolate Chip Cookies are world renowned, and actually traveled the world. Well into her nineties she would easily prepare 138 pierogies for the family celebrations. She was a superior seamstress, who also crocheted, quilted and crafted. She was also a member of the Mother's Club, the Rosary Ladies, Young at Heart, and the Falcon Ladies Auxiliary. She worked in the Lab at Lear Seigler [30 years], completed two years at Grand Rapids Junior College in Engineering and ultimately instructed Engineers at Lear Seigler. Ann leaves a legacy of family love, of learning, and of courage. Her family will forever hold her close-- in their hearts and in their thoughts. She gave the greatest of gifts—a love that grows with each morning and a courage that keeps life expanding. Ann was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, contributing in every way where a Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 am. She will repose one hour prior to the Mass. Her family will receive visitors Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance NW. where a vigil service will be Tuesday at 7pm. Memorials preferred to: Sacred Heart of Jesus Capital Campaign Fund or St. Ann's Home.
